“Our task regarding creativity is to help children climb their own mountains, as high as possible. No one can do more"
-Loris Malaguzzi
Mini Miners Early Learning Centre is based in the heart of Miners Rest, it is privately owned and operated by a small leadership team. Mini Miners are driven by their community and families, and pride themselves on these strong connections.
Centre Philosophy
The centre philosophy focuses on providing a warm and nurturing environment for all children and families, that nurtures and supports a child-led program where children's learnings foster curiosity and positive relationships.
At Mini Miners, we believe in providing play spaces for children to explore and create wonder through our natural environment. Our outdoor yard is a large open space where children can explore nature and all its wonder. Filled with loose parts and opportunities for children to get messy, as they engage in play that encourages them to take and manage risks, nurturing curious minds. We know children learn by experience, they are intrinsically motivated to push boundaries in order to assess what they can and cannot do. We provide risks, not hazards, for children in a controlled environment.
Who We Are
Long Daycare
At Mini Miners we have four Long Daycare programs; caring and educating children from 5 months to school age.
Billybutton (5 months - 12 months old)
Gumnut (1 - 2 years old)
Wattle (2 - 3 years old)
Banksia (3 - 5 years old)
Kindergarten
At Mini Miners Early Learning Centre, we offer both a 3-year-old & 4-year-old funded kindergarten program to the families of Miners Rest and wider communities.
The ‘Waratah’ program runs from a separate room; allowing the program to run an enriched space, focusing on the skills to support children with school readiness.
Paddock Block
Mini Miners Paddock Block is a program held exclusively outside, where children use the natural environment to source their own learning. The Paddock Block is a private block of land, generous in size and filled with natural elements. It is located on a private road, behind the service and easily accessible by staff and children.
